Vox Media’s Chorus

In July 2018, Vox Media officially opened Chorus for partnership with other producers and brands. Chorus needed to be redesigned with a neutral, non-corporate look and feel, as well as fix all the existing qualms with the current platform.

I worked primarily on helping fold the existing video publishing system, Volume, into Chorus Video, fixing UX problems with the new video flow to achieve Chorus’ promise of a streamlined and efficient interface.

Before: Restrictive interface, clunky hierarchy, lack of clarity on which fields are required in order to proceed

Component design: Search and select
This tool was missing from our Resonance design system, and was a component needed for the new form entry design (what with being able to search for a particular community or brand in a dropdown of over a hundred choices). The tool was made to have an easy way to change or delete an option after it was selected.
